- What information is collected — (name, email, phone number, IP address, etc.)
- How user data is used — (contact the customer, provide services, send updates, etc.), I suggest using the following: transactional messages related to their account, orders, or services they have requested. They also can receive marketing/promotional messages if they opt-in on the separate box.
- SMS opt-in details — explain how someone opts in to receive texts and what they're agreeing to. This would be through a checkbox or yes or no option, they would be agreeing to getting transactional/ update messages on what they request and also could opt-in to getting marketing messages. It also needs to be clear that this is not required by any means and the form cannot be blocked if they don't opt-in.
- Cookie & tracking practices — mention if the site uses cookies, Google Analytics, or any tracking tools
- Data security and handling — describe how you protect customer data (secure servers, limited employee access, etc.)
- User rights — explain what customers can do with their data (request deletion, opt out to messaging by saying STOP, update their info)
- Mobile info sharing statement — the "no sharing" language stating that SMS consent and phone numbers are not shared with third parties except the messaging providers used to deliver texts
